Although the constant evolution of technology – not least advances in AI – makes this seem inevitable, this sci-fi mental image doesn’t reflect the everyday world around us.
So I’ve been interrogating the real world of human-tech fusion, or “Augmentality,” to identify the exciting opportunities technology offers in body tech.
I spoke to 14 people that, through choice or necessity, already augment themselves – from deep brain stimulation, to bionic limbs, to tattoos. From this and a deep subject immersion, I've revealed the fascinating true potential behind the techno-rhetoric.
